SDHI - Infrastructure - Overview
SDHI Shipyard, India’s largest by capacity, is well positioned to power India’s Maritime vision of being among the top 10 shipbuilders in the world by 2030 and among the top 5 by 2047.
Spread over 600 acres, the shipyard is strategically located on the west coast of India, in Gujarat. By virtue of its strategic location, the shipyard offers geographical proximity to all global trade routes and maritime hubs. Located in an industrial hub, SDHI Shipyard offers a dedicated support ecosystem of ancillary industries and workforce in addition to multi-modal connectivity through sea, rail, air, and road.
SDHI Shipyard offers unmatched heft in shipbuilding and repairs through its state-of-the-art infrastructure capabilities. Spread over 250+ acres, SDHI Shipyard’s Ship Construction Site (SCS) boasts of India’s largest dry dock (660m x 65m) by capacity to build vessels up to 400,000 DWT, with a draft of 10.5m.
Further, the shipyard also has a Block Construction Site (BCS) spread over 340+ acres, located in a Special Economic Zone. Our BCS is one of India's largest fabrication sites - dedicated 2.41 Mn sq. ft. of covered shed allowing fabrication all year round. The annual steel fabrication capacity is more than all other Indian shipyards combined (144,000 MT).
The shipyard has leveraged its strong infrastructure and robust capabilities to deliver 18 vessels in the past, including 74,500 DWT Panamax Bulk Carriers, Deck Cargo Barges, Jack-up Barges, Offshore Support Vessels, STS Cranes, and Jack-up Drilling Rigs.
