SDHI Shipyard offers state-of-the-art fabrication infrastructure, also known as the Block Construction Site, spanning over 300 acres and featuring 1.2 kilometres of developed waterfront.

One of India's largest fabrication sites - dedicated 2.41 Mn sq. ft. of covered shed, the BCS facility offers fabrication all year round, with installed capacity of 12,000 T per month (144,000T per year), more than all other Indian shipyards combined. The fabrication facility is in a special economic zone.

SDHI has significant capability for fabrication and assembly of offshore oil & gas well as well as process platforms, Port Cranes (popularly known as Yellow Goods) and all types of Process Modules. The company offers Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) as well as load out services from its Offshore Yard.

Some unique features

As a long term goal, the company will also focus on contributing to India’s vast energy requirements - through offshore wind power and solar power projects – on a commercial basis. SDHI will also look to continuously explore the market for future opportunities, both in India and outside the country, in onshore, offshore, refineries, LNG and related sectors.

  • The only shipyard with a semi – automatic panel production line (300m x 22.5 m), the largest in India for dedicated fabrication of large merchant vessels, modular structures and sub-assemblies
  • Our fabrication workshops also feature advanced CNC and robotic cutting machines for steel up to 100 mm thick, cold and hot steel forming capabilities, and high-tonnage hydraulic presses with up to 1,600 tonnes for precision manufacturing.
  • SDHI’s shipyard also includes three blast cells for contained abrasive blasting, pre-outfitting shops for modular assembly, and environmentally controlled dehumidification systems for high-quality coating applications.
  • Heavy lift operations are seamlessly handled by high-capacity cranes, including gantry cranes with lifting capacities of up to 300 tonnes and high-throughput panel assembly lines.
  • The facility’s pipe shop is the largest in India, capable of processing up to 1,000 spools per day.
