Offering an annual steel fabrication capacity of 144,000 T, SDHI Shipyards offers an impressive fabrication facility, which is second to none. We are the only fabrication facility at a shipyard in India with a semi – automatic panel production line (300m x 22.5m) - the largest in India for dedicated fabrication of large merchant vessels, modular structures, and sub-assemblies.

The fabrication facilities comprise of 3 bays spread over 24,000 sq. m for storage, auto blasting and priming, with 24,500 Tons per month auto blasting and priming capacity. The steel storage and priming site is co-located with fabrication bays providing seamless movement.

Some unique features

  • Our fabrication workshops also feature advanced CNC and robotic cutting machines for steel up to 100 mm thick, cold and hot steel forming capabilities, and high-tonnage hydraulic presses with up to 1,600 tonnes for precision manufacturing.

  • SDHI Shipyard also includes three blast cells for contained abrasive blasting, pre-outfitting shops for modular assembly, and environmentally controlled dehumidification systems for high-quality coating applications.

  • The facility supports specialized welding technologies including SMAW, SAW, MIG, TIG, and laser welding.

  • Heavy lift operations are seamlessly handled by high-capacity cranes, including gantry cranes with lifting capacities of up to 300 tonnes and high-throughput panel assembly lines.

  • The facility’s pipe shop is the largest in India, capable of processing up to 1,000 spools per day.
