SDHI Shipyard offers unmatched heft in shipbuilding and repairs through its state-of-the-art infrastructure capabilities. Spread over 250+ acres, SDHI Shipyard’s Ship Construction Site (SCS) boasts of India’s largest dry dock (662m x 65m) by capacity to build vessels up to 400,000 DWT, the dry dock offers a draft of 10.5m.

The dry dock has India’s largest Goliath Crane, with a lifting capacity of 600 MT, spanning 148m and hook height 75m. The facility also features a 100-meter extension track for the Goliath crane to unload heavy machinery and equipment directly from ships and heavy lift barges. Additionally, 2 ELLs of total 80 MT capacity add to the operational heft of the dry dock. Contributing to about 30 per cent of India’s shipbuilding capacity, it is the only dry dock in India presently where Ultra Large Crude Carriers can be made.

In addition to the dry dock, the SCS has two dedicated warehousing facilities measuring 42m x 21m & 43.5m x 25m; a dedicated hardstand (940m x 40 m) for assembly of mega blocks and launch of vessels up to 600 gross weight ton. A wet basin of 340m x 60m with 5m to 6m draft that provides for berthing, assembly and launch of vessels.
